A dialogue between voice and sound that brings Italo Calvino’s Invisible Cities to life. Matteo Caccia’s voice on one side, Davide Dileo’s—known by his stage name Boosta—soundscape on the other.
The Invisible Cities is a dialogue between Marco Polo and Kublai Khan: the Venetian traveler tells the old Tartar emperor about the cities he has visited throughout his vast empire, and each city is in fact a short treatise in the form of a story—on memory, desire, signs, exchanges, eyes, names, the dead, and the sky. In the Fucine Hall at the OGR, words and sounds interact to evoke those places that are nonexistent yet coveted, imperfect yet desired.
“Cities are a collection of many things: memories, desires, and signs of a language,” Calvino wrote in 1983—the very same stuff, after all, that a library is made of.
A show to watch—or perhaps just to listen to.
Just as the cities described to Kublai Khan are invisible yet exist within his story, so too do the inaudible cities not exist, but through listening, they take shape and come to life.

BOOSTA
Davide “Boosta” Dileo (Turin, 1974) is a musician, composer, and sound artist. In 1996, he co-founded Subsonica, where he serves as keyboardist and lead composer alongside Max Casacci: eleven studio albums, culminating in Terre Rare (2026, Epic/Sony), released to mark the band’s 30th anniversary, and the 2024 David di Donatello Award for Best Composer for the soundtrack to Stefano Sollima’s Adagio. At the same time, he has pursued a solo career blending piano and electronic music—Facile (2020), Post Piano Session (2022), and Soloist (2025, Sony)—as well as composing for film and television, from the series 1992 and 1993 to the Cinematografo Award for La prima regola. Since 2024, he has been working with sound as an exhibition medium: the Sonogramma artist studio in Turin, installations at the OGR, and the Gallerie Sonore series with Gallerie d’Italia
